1. What is the admission process?

The first step is registration for admission by submission of the completed admission form (download the form available in the website). Kindly check the "Announcement" column in the website for details.

2. What are the various streams of pre-primary courses offered by NPS YPR?

There are two streams of pre-primary courses which run parallel:
a. Montessori
b. Kindergarten

3. What is Montessori Method of teaching?

Montessori Method was developed by Dr. Maria Montessori based on the actual observations on each child. Various subjects are taught with scientifically designed materials which are age appropriate.

4. How many years is the Montessori programme?

Montessori programme is a three year programme (Montessori I, Montessori II, Montessori III) after which students go to Class I.

5. What would be the age limit for admission to Montessori - I?

Age Limit for admission to Montessori - I is 2.8 years to 3.2 years.

6. What is Kindergarten Programme?

Education techniques in Kindergarten are customised to suit the needs of children. The best of various educational approaches like Waldorf education, Reggio Emilia approach, Glenn Doman technique and other techniques are adapted to enhance the capabilities of children.

7. How many years is the Kindergarten programme?

Kindergarten is a two year programme (KG I and KG II) after which students go to Class I.

8.What would be the age limit for the admission to Kindergarten - I?

Age Limit for admission to Kindergarten - I is 3.8 years to 4.2 years.

9. What is the academic calendar?

The academic calendar is from June to March

10. What are the timings of the school?

Montessori I - 09:15 a.m to 12:15 p.m
Montessori II and III - 08:15 a.m to 12.15 p.m
STD 1 - 12 - Monday to Friday - 08:15 am to 02:55 pm
Saturday for class 6 - 12 - 08:15 a.m to 12:00 noon

[Note: Full day timings for Montessori -III to be followed as per circulars which will be given from time to time]

11. When is the Co - Scholastic and Extra Curricular Activities conducted?

Co-Scholastic Activities are included in the daily time table. The Extra Curricular Activities are conducted after school hours.

12. How many students are there in a class?

Each class has an average of 30 - 32 students.

13. Will the notebooks and textbooks be provided by the school?

Yes, books are distributed by the school. Before the reopening of the school, details of the book issue will be notified on the School notice board and the website.

14. How should the notebooks and textbooks be covered?

Covering of notebooks and textbooks for : -

Classes - Montessori II, Montessori III, KG I, KG II, Classes 1 and 2 :

*Notebooks and textbooks must be covered with transparent sheet only.
*Stick labels on the top right hand corner of the textbook.
*Mention the name of the child and class on the label. The section and the subject will be entered later.
*Refrain from using fancy labels.

Classes - 3 to 12 :

*Notebooks should be covered with transparent sheet and textbooks with glazed brown sheet and labelled.

15. Where will we get uniforms?

16. When does my child wear House uniform and School uniform?

House uniform on every Friday. School uniform on all other working days.

17. What type of shoes have to be bought for my child ?

Shoes for KG :
Boys : Bata Black shoes with velcro
Girls : Bata Ballerina Black Shoes with velcro
No sport shoes for Kindergarten

Shoes for 1 to 12 :
Boys : Bata black shoes with lace and Bata white canvas shoes with lace.
Girls : Bata black Ballerina and Bata white canvas shoes with lace.

18. When does my child wear white shoes?

On every Friday, and the day they have PT or Sports (Refer to Timetable)

19. What is the dress code for Montessori children?

Girls :   Black or white T-shirt and black or blue leggings.
Boys :  Black or white T-shirt and black or blue track pants.

Kindly refrain from using T-shirt with cartoon characters and tight fitting pants with button and belt. Shoes : Children need to wear comfortable slip-ons. Avoid tight shoes with laces or straps.

20. Are there any school bus transport facility?

21. What is the duration of the written Entrance Test?
