National Public School Yeshwanthpur observed the National Education Day on 11 November 2016. The event commemorated the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education minister of the nation.
The day began with a special assembly to mark the observance. Students highlighted the importance of the day in the opening remarks. Thereafter a discussion ensued on the need for education and adapting it to the changing times.
The students undertook a pledge, administered by the School Prefect to spread awareness about education, to be informed and wise individuals for a progressive nation. As the choir belted out notes of 'We are the World' it was time for all to introspect the on-going programmes in the field of education and the role each could play in that.
The day left an indelible impression on the young minds as they pledged to be active campaigners to spread awareness about education.
